What are you doing here?
This is the first video that our media group has produced. We were given the twenty five minute task of creating three or more clips of a character saying 'What are you doing here?' which is shown above.
We filmed all of our clips within the school grounds. Our first clip, the over the shoulder shot, was shot beside a building which was a good location because it has a suitable background and has a good shading against the sun. In the second clip, we filmed it on top of a hill and the camera man stood at the bottom of the hill to get a low shot.
During the filming we chose the three best camera angles to use within our work: a low angle of two people standing above where the camera is positioned, a high angle of one guy walking over to another and asking him the question, and an over the shoulder shot of one guy asking the other guy with the camera behind him 'What are you doing here.' I believe that we achieved each camera angle very well. The camera man also kept the camera very still throughout all three images. To improve, we could use more camera angles in our work such as: Long shots, close up shots, tracking shots and dolly shots.
For editing we used Adobe Premiere Elements 10 to cut out some of the clips so they wouldn't include our laughing. We also used Adobe Premiere Elements to add the title screen in to our piece to show what our project was called.
For filming, we used a GE digital HD video camera DV1.
To improve our film, we could use a wider variety of camera shots such as: A close up shot, where the camera is zoomed in a lot to the characters face or an object, A tracking shot, where the camera follows the character. And a long shot, where you can see everything in the scene.
